the project
This site is my personal project. I have been building and flying drones, and taking videos and photos for more than 10 years. Being certified as a drone pilot, I decided to go ahead and commercialize it.
I don’t usually use videos as a design element because a moving object can distract from important messages, but in this case, I felt it was the best way to show the user how different this point of view is as soon as they open the page.
I didn’t use too much text because in this project the visuals need to get the message across. My plan was to make it simple but catchy.
To keep the balance of the large images and videos, I used a slightly larger font size as usual, this is more in line with the message I want to convey because I knew that this type of content presents a complete user experience only on a desktop.
I did not use the video as a design element on the mobile screen. It wouldn’t add that much extra on mobile and it would also slow down the page, so only the static content was displayed there.
For myself, I didn’t think it was necessary to use Figma, I took a pencil and a notebook to make a wireframe and formulate the ideas.
the role
… is to create an eye-catching and entertaining design but keep it clean and simple.
For this, my tools were: pen, paper, Photoshop, and Visual Studio Code, the website is based on WordPress.
video content
All the videos were recorded with DJI drones or modified FPV quadcopters ( GoPro for the HD footage ) and edited with DaVinci Resolve 18.
